Those first ears were definitely too pointy!
Time to make some new better ears!
Same sort of idea, foam interfacing, fake suede, and floral wire.
Some airbrushing as well!
Stitch (626) Maquette by Raffaello Vecchione
Here is the sculpture that was brought to my attention that was used in the production of the movie.
You can see exactly how the ears should look! I took this as gospel from here on out.

TRAGEDY AGAIN!!
The floral wire gave up the ghost and snapped due to fatigue and overuse.
I was not discouraged in the slightest however. I knew this would be a blessing in disguise because if it was going to break, better now than when he was all done!
After some brainstorming I thought of the segmented doll skeleton material!
I ordered some and it was going to work!
It was however too tight for the delicate ears, so I had to sand 3-4 connections on each side. Just enough to allow them to move easily but still tight enough to hold their own.
I sewed them on using the cross sections and covered them with some more soft upholstery foam.
As you can see I made a new rectangular hard foam piece to insert them into the head.
