Wolf Plush Information
How long do they take to made?
My complex wolf plush take about 4-6 weeks to make IF I am working on them full time. This time frame is not a grantee, but it is almost certain.
Whereas my more simple wolf plush take about 1-1.5 weeks to make.
What are they made of?
How to care for a plush
These plush are NOT toys, they are soft sculptures/works of art.
They are suitable for display or light cuddling/petting.
They can be surface cleaned but take care to avoid parts with airbrushing/paint.
Do NOT machine wash them
Do NOT use heat on them
To maintain the fur, a slicker or dog grooming brush is recommended
Just avoid the eyes when using a brush
-Synthetic or fake fur fabric
-Fake suede fabric
-Synthetic velvet fabric
-All sew guttermann thread
-Bonded nylon sail thread
-Synthetic polyfill stuffing
-Plastic poly weighted pellets
-Glass caboshon (eyes)
-Acrylic paints
-UHU glue (whiskers)
The only hard parts are the glass eyes and the weighted pellets inside the body
How much do they cost?
My wolf plush cost $6,000 USD for my more complex pattern, and $1,500 for my more simple pattern (the simple pattern price is only an estimate at this time).
Please note that these prices do NOT include shipping from New Zealand
Shipping is calculated after the item is complete and the original invoice is paid off.
This is due to post prices being subject to change.
Why are they so expensive?
These wolf plush are luxury, hand made items built by a single person.
They contain an incredible amount of details from hours of thread sculpting, shaving and painting.
I have spent years honing my craft, modifying the pattern again and again until I have become satisfied with the current version.
Materials are very expensive, as well as expensive to ship to my location.
How does early adoption work?/Payment plans
If you wish to adopt a wolf during the construction phase I require a $500 USD non refundable down-payment. This secures YOUR wolf.
From there you may pay off the invoice in intervals of $300 USD minimum per week until fully paid off.
The payment may be sent no later than THURSDAY each week. This is due to it being Friday local time and paypal not able to transfer money over the weekend.
Missed payments will incur a late fee of $50 (per missed payment).
A Friday payment will count as a late payment. NO EXCEPTIONS.
This is my main income, I have rent and bills to pay.
Do NOT commit to a payment plan if you cannot confidently afford $300 a week.
Either look into a line of credit or save up.
Shipping is calculated and then charged in a final separate invoice.
This is due to the price of postage being subject to change.
You may pay more per week if desired. Wolves take around 4-6 weeks to complete.
How do I adopt/purchase a wolf plush?
You can ask me if the plush is available for purchase during the construction/WIP phase on social media where I post said WIPs.
If it is available I will walk you through how that process works (which you can also read about here).
Sometimes however I will be listing the plush up for auction. In this case it will be available to bid on once the plush is complete via google forms.
Would you ever consider taking on a commission?
ONLY and I mean ONLY if it sparks passion and desire to craft the critter/character, and ONLY if I have unfettered creative authority over the entire project.
I will stick to the reference but I must have free rein on materials, overall construction design, and potentially size.
Price is non-negotiable in regards to commissions.
I am usually open to pose/size ideas if this is a one off critter but this can be discussed.
Do I have any say as an early adopter about design/color of a wolf plush?
No, the photo reference I am drawing inspiration from will be shown to potential buyers before any commitment is made.
When I create a wolf plush it is a design I have found passion and desire to create.
If that design is changed this is no longer a passion project and I will probably come to regret making them.
This has happened before and those patterns have since been retired and tossed. This is why I no longer take commissions.
My wolves are purely passion projects and once I have a vision, I must complete it as I see fit.
You MIGHT have some say on eye color, unless I am super keen on the color already.
I will ask if I am open to changing the eye color.
What happens if a wolf is lost to the postal void?
An investigation through the post will ensue and the insurance amount will be claimed if it is deemed lost.
The insurance will most likely only cover supply cost SO
in this very unlikely and rare case I will most likely be unable to refund the full purchase (non refundable down-payment and I have bills to pay as I go and create) right away.
SO IF THIS DOES HAPPEN I WILL REPLACE THE PLUSH.
This is the ONLY circumstance where I will take on a design of YOUR choosing to replace the lost one (photo reference only, I will not crate a fantasy creature).
I am happy to try to replicate the lost plush, however a lot of my materials are scraps of hard to acquire colors. No wolf is truly clone-able due to this fact.
This of course is negotiable and I will refund everything (minus the down-payment of $500 USD) via reverse payment plan (me to you) if you choose not to take the replacement.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping takes anywhere from 1-6 weeks on AVERAGE
I have had packages sit in customs for 2 weeks in NZ (outgoing) AND 2 weeks in receiving customs before.
Sometimes packages need to wait for flights to fill to leave.
All of this is out of my control.
